Is it possible to use OBD2 dongle (like OBDLink MX+) and Torque Pro for Android to read parameters that are available in OrBit?
I assume that I would need to define custom PIDs.

For example I'm interested in reading Current Gear from TCM.

Hi all- I’m looking for some help troubleshooting the thermostat in my 2019 S60 T6. I’ve been using the Car Scanner app to monitor fluid temps for a while and have noticed my coolant isn’t quite getting up to what I consider normal temperatures. In the warm summer months with the AC on, it usually runs about 174F and the engine oil temp usually doesn’t go above that. Now that it’s cold out, it’s usually in the 150’s F on long highway driving. When it’s really cold it’ll drop below that. I’ve noticed that if I turn the heat off completely it will get up around 185F, but will not get that high with the heat on. I did some digging on the tech specs for my car and the target thermostat temp is 90C (~195F) unless it’s in Polestar mode where it has a heated function that opens the thermostat more to keep the temps cooler. My coolant never gets that high normally. My fuel efficiency hasn’t been that great this past year and I’m somewhat concerned about getting the oil hotter to evaporate water, etc..

Does anyone happen to know of any DID’s I could use to see if the thermostat is opening and closing properly? I asked the dealer to look into it at its last service but they didn’t, so I’m hoping to dig into a little more on my own. Worst case, a new thermostat isn’t very expensive and looks pretty easy to replace if it comes to it. Thanks.

Hey all, I created some diagnostics forums as more diagnostic stuff is added to OrBit.

Once thing I am looking at, is the "battery replacement" process, which is supposed to essentially reset the "learning" of the capcity and charging behavior of the battery. I have the process, it will be added to OrBit.

What the "battery replacement" does in actuality, is simply reset the "State of Charge" and the "Time in Service" of the battery.

You can already read this data in OrBit, so I've been looking at my car:

 BatteryTimeInService.PNG (Size: 15.03 KB / Downloads: 359)

On my car, the battery "time in service" is 0 days today, and yesterday it was 2 days. I expected that the data would reflect the actual age of the battery (original to my car since 2019). But it doesn't seem to. I do a lot of things on my car though...not clear the battery life, but lots of other testing ;-) It makes me wonder the value of resetting the "battery time in service" if it is getting reset anyways. I will still add it, as it's a function that VIDA does and is supposed to be needed.

But still I am curious..any other OrBit users want to check this on your car, see what your battery time in service reports??
