Incorrect VGM PIN error when programming?

Hi - I'm using OrBit with a Polestar 2 on the very latest version of its OTA software (5.1.17, which doesn't even appear on the manufacturer's software info page yet -- though it deployed OTA to the car two weeks ago). Shortly after that update, I was able to connect with OrBit and push some headlight configuration changes to the car. Today, though, I tried again as I wanted to change the version of adaptive that I had chosen. I was able to connect and get basic car info (e.g., battery SOH, 12V charge, and current config), but when I tried to push a change to the car I got a "VGM PIN incorrect" error repeatedly, and could not progress. I verified that OrBit is still set up with the same PINs as I had initially put in for the VIN. Anybody know what could be going wrong and anything I could do to fix it?

I had been running OrBit continuously on the ancient laptop I use for this sole purpose. Closing the app and reopening it triggered a software update check. After installing the latest version of OrBit, everything worked.

Consequences of visiting the dealer without Restore OEM — software-only config change

Apologies if this has been asked before — I searched but couldn't find a clear, definitive answer.
My situation: I'm only interested in software config changes (Start/Stop memory, Pilot Assist, that kind of thing). No hardware retrofits, no module firmware uploads — purely toggling config settings that the car already supports. Sensus ,2020 model.

Question 1: Suppose for whatever reason I don't get around to doing Restore OEM before the car goes to an authorised Volvo dealer — I forget, or the car goes in unexpectedly. What actually happens?
Do I get locked out on Volvo's side, or do my settings just get overwritten during their software update and that's the end of it?
Question 2: If a lock-out is a real thing — what does it actually mean in practice?

What exactly stops working? Only future dealer/VIDA operations, or OTA updates and connected services too?
Is it reversible? What's the procedure?
Does it cost anything, and roughly how much?
Is it flagged against the VIN permanently, or does it clear once the config matches again?

I'm in Poland, so if dealer handling differs by market, experience from PL or nearby EU countries would be especially useful.

Replacing height sensors on 2018 xc90…will this calibrate?

Ball sockets on the front right and left height sensor arms seized up and the arms detached from the sensor spindles.
I have no way to reattach the arms as i don’t know where the arms should be attached on the spindles rotational angle.
So if i buy new arms will this software work to calibrate the voltages output from the sensors?

Right now i turned the spindles to say it was at highest height so it bleed out the air

Hi all,

I’m about to buy an OrBit subscription, but there’s one thing I need to clear up first, because it could be an expensive mistake for me.

Background: I bought a used S60 (3rd gen,).After buying it I had the Polestar Engineered Optimization installed at the Volvo dealer — the official paid one, not a config activation. It cost real money, so losing it is not an option.

My question: if I use OrBit to change some settings and then hit Restore OEM before a dealer service visit, does the dealer-installed Polestar optimization survive that reset?

What makes me unsure is that OrBit itself exposes “Polestar optimisation” as a config item, and as I understand it Restore OEM doesn’t write back a per-car backup — it restores the standard OEM config logic. So if any part of the Polestar activation lives in that config layer rather than purely in the ECM/TCM software, I assume a reset could switch it off. Is that correct, or is the dealer version a genuine ECM/TCM reflash that Restore OEM never touches?

High Volt Battery limitations

Hi guys,

is there a way to change the battery limitations?
E.g. when the charging level of the high volt battery reaches 20% it shows me 0% left and it's empty , raven if there are 20% left
Same in the other direction, when I load the battery, I'm only able to load it to 90% while tha car says that it is fully loaded.

I can read the real values via the odbc soced.
Is there not way with orbit to change this limitations to get mor out of my battery?
For example 10%-95% for real usage?

HELP! Retrofit rear parking camera

Volvo v60 -2021 SPA
So I bought a camera with blue back, not 360. With 4 pin connector and a cable like one from the other threads (pink angled connector and dark blue? straight connnector). The cable didnt fit so i removed the plastic housing and now there is nog plastic guidance, meaning I can turn the cable any way around in both ends. The ihu cable is mounted with the cable downwards and the camera side has the cut corner on the lower left side.

Fitted it and changed 154 to 02 "with camera". Then I checked the cable. It was crossed in the blue and green line (pin 2 and 3). Switched the cables so its now straight. 1-1. Meaning they are installed the same in bot ends. Same pin our. I then put everything together but still no rear parking camera on screen.

The camera symbol is in the sensus menu but no grey bar on the left side on the camera symbol )as the other symbol has in the menu)

I think I found the schematics but I need help understanding it?

Please advise. I´m going crazy here!

Polestar 2 AVAS (Exterior speaker) Diagnostics

Hey everyone!

My P2 2020 throws up "Exterior Speaker Malfunction" - which is the AVAS system. Ordinarily this is pinned on the early models not being as water-resistant as you might hope, but mine is 90% non-functional and then every now and then it'll be absolutely golden, and it doesn't matter at all what the weather has been like.

If I had to suspect, it's a connector that's vibrated loose - but what within Orbit could I use to diagnose what specifically is causing the malfunction to be thrown up, between the two speakers and the control module?

Vida and/or Orbit Progression for Carplay

Hey,

I have a 2016 Volvo XC90 T8 PHEV Inscription with single port USB. I want to activate CarPlay. I’m aware that the dual port is not necessary. So what’s the process. I have VOE cable and Windows device, do I go through the rigmarole of updating all my software via VIDA first and use wireshark to grab my pin, and then Orbit or should I just bypass VIDA altogether and do Orbit with Pin Retrieval, and simply activate CarPlay that way?

I don’t know what the latest software is on my vehicle, but I’ve heard that some of the software updates can actually make the car operate more efficiently in regards to the PHEV element.

TLDR:
VIDA > Wireshark for Pin > Software Updates > Orbit > Activate CarPlay
Bypass Updates > Orbit with Pin Retrieval > Activate Carplay

Turbo adaptions reset

Does Orbit have an option to reset the turbo adaptations?
I replaced the turbocharger, and the adaptation reset has not been performed yet. Is it actually necessary, and if so, where can I find this function?

Drive Mode Selector Memory

I caught a YouTube video the other day where a commentor mentioned you could set Drive Mode (ie, Eco - Comfort - Polestar Engineered - Individual) to have a memory so that you don't have to select it on every restart of the car.

As I have Start Stop off in 'Individual' Saved Settings (A as well as Polestar on and firmer steering) this would be blummin useful to be able to set, I've not been able to identify the configuration code, anyone have any ideas?

Shift Paddle Retrofit: Manual shifting reverts back to 'D' automatically

Hi everyone. I’ve recently retrofitted OEM shift paddles onto my 22.5 Volvo S60 Polestar Engineered. The paddles function, but when manual shifting in D or B mode, the car reverts back to automatic after a short while say maybe 3 seconds.

Is there an option or config I can change in Orbit that will command the car to remain in 'manual' shift mode without it automatically reverting back to a few seconds after shifting?

Makes the paddle shift retrofit an absolute waste of time, money and effort quite frankly otherwise.

Quite often blinker sound and audio system loss (IHU reboot)

Hi,

since Volvo UX 5.0.5 and 5.1.17 i quite often have a loss of blinker and audio output which needs a IHU reboot or much worser in the night while driving reboot while everything goes dark for a while, if this just me or has anyone else similar problems? It doesn't matter of the car is on OEM or with changed config.

Polestar theme on Sensus (Parameter 168)

Hi,
I am trying to activate the blue Polestar theme on my Sensus car. I changed Parameter 168 (Screen Theme/Skins) to 05 Polestar. When I start the car, the Polestar logo appears in the driver display for a second. The theme itself doesn't change color at all, only the startup logo is visible.
I have tried searching for Trim Line and Brand parameters but couldn't find the right ones for my software version. Could anyone help me find which other parameter I need to change to lock in the blue Polestar theme?
My car is a Volvo V60 2020 D3

Random MIL & Brake Warning Lights (ESC/ABS) after Polestar/VMax flash - V60 MY21 Mild

Hi everyone,
I'm looking for some advice on a recurring issue with a customer's car after flashing the CCF.
Vehicle: Volvo V60 MY2021 (B-Series Mild Hybrid, Sensus).
Modifications Applied:

ID 044: 250 km/h (VMax)
ID 374: 02 (Polestar Optimization)
ID 057: 03 (Drive Mode Digital UI on IHU - No physical scroll wheel present)

The Issue: The flash goes through perfectly and the car runs great. However, while driving, the car randomly throws the Check Engine Light (MIL) along with various brake/chassis warning lights (ESC / ABS / Parking Brake). Important note: the car does not go into Limp Mode and there is no power loss. Polestar mode works perfectly, but the dash lights up like a Christmas tree.
What I've already tried: I know that ID 057 = 03 without the physical wheel triggers the

ghost code, but that usually doesn't trigger the dashboard MIL. To fix the brake lights, I have performed the "ABS Clear Config" in the OrBit Services tab multiple times, followed by "Clear All DTCs" and a full 15-20 minute Deep Sleep (key fob far away). Unfortunately, the calibration doesn't seem to stick, and the warnings come back.
My questions for the community:

Has anyone experienced this specific VDDM/brake module freakout on the newer B-Series / 48V architectures?
Could the brake warnings be chained to the
