Hi everyone

I recently replaced the lower link on the rear right suspension height sensor on my 2017 S90.
I don't have air suspension, so this is only used for headlamp levelling.

I still get a DTC saying the value is out of range, and when I monitor the VDDM DIDs for front and rear height, the readings are very different and move in opposite directions when the vehicle height changes.

I was really hoping someone could check this on an S90 and tell me what "normal" looks like!

When I replaced the lower link, the "elbow" could go in two orientations, either towards the centre or outside of the vehicle and I am wondering if I picked the wrong one...

Any suggestions much appreciated!

Hi everyone,
Is there anyone here who has experience converting a SPA platform vehicle from the US market to the EU? Do you have a list of parameters that usually need to be changed? I’m new to this and want to learn, but I also don't want to mess anything up.
Also, are there any interesting features that can be unlocked? For example, enabling Matrix LEDs if the car already has Full LED lamps?
Thanks!

Adjusted the headlight level with the 6mm white level screws located on the headlight.
There is another hidden white hex bolt down the panel side of each light, requires a socket extension. This bolt is for the dipped beam.
Anti clockwise - beam up
Clockwise - beam down

Hello all!

Vehicle is a 2020 Volvo XC30 D3 Inscription Plus (RHD)

My vehicle is equipped with the standard LED lights with auto high beam function and cornering lights. I have not changed any settings relating to the lights since having orbit.

Last year after my car went for its MOT and software update (Craig Moncrieff Edinburgh by the way are great!) I noticed the dipped beam was low but only after a month or so after its MOT (car wasn’t driven in the dark until then). I’m not saying the garage has done anything but I’m wondering if there has been an issue with software that anyone could enlighten me on? (Current update 3.7 Sensus) but unsure if there were any config changes to lights.

My dipped beam headlight aim is excessively low. The light throw is around 20ft in front of the bonnet when on dipped beam and when on auto high beams it comes in around 10ft in front of the car appearing as if it’s angled down excessively. If I switch it back to conventional dipped beams it moves back to the 20ft position. I can confirm this wasn’t the case before the car went into

When I start the car it does the usual calibration and the lights move up and down and everything appears to be normal until starting to move.

High beams are fine with no issues. I’ve checked both suspension level sensors and they appear to be working and I’ve got no codes for any faults. (I do have a new level sensor loaded in the parts cannon!)

I’ve seen people have had issues with the high beam function and state there is an adjustment screw but I’ve only seen that for people with high beam issues and nothing on dipped beam.

I’m sure it’s not a mechanical failure if the components (no codes, self level adjustment appears to function as normal. I can’t see anything on the ECU tab to recalibrate the level sensors or adjust the headlight throw.

Thanks for any input you have. It’s driving me insane as well as being irritating and unsafe. Luckily I drive my other car mainly at night because this is the wife’s motor!

Cheers

Does anyone know whether Volvo / Google have recently updated AAOS to support dTPMS please?

Reason for asking is that I have a MY26 XC90 T8 Ultra (so it's an AA car) bought in the UK and I'm keen to have dTPMS, so did a bit of research into each of the potential stumbling points that I thought of, namely:

Keyless frequency - took the key apart and checked under the blade, it shows that I have a car using 433Mhz

Suitable TPMS sensor - after lots of searching I found that the Volvo USA website lists part number 32134419 (here) as being suitable for use with my car, along with numerous others, specifically the EX90 (2025-7), S90 (2027) and the XC90 (2016-2027). This appears to be a sensor generally for use with winter tyres, not that I can see any reason why winter / summer / all-season tyres would be able to facilitate or prevent such a sensor from working.

The above TPMS sensor (32134419) also uses the 433Mhz frequency

I note the comment from Power6 in the first page of the main TPMS thread that AAOS didn't support dTPMS when he posted ~3 years ago, but that seems at odds with the list of suitable vehicles displayed on the above website, hence my question as to whether Volvo have now enabled dTPMS on AAOS vehicles.

I've not bought OrBit yet, however, if anyone is able to confirm that AAOS does now support dTPMS then I will definitely do so.

I get questions about the tire size configurations occasionally. So it seems i should publish my current knowledge and understanding of them. Everything has been learned through experience and research, helping OrBit users. If you think something is not correct, let me know.

OrBit is a little different than Volvo with the tire settings, but the result is you have more flexibility. Volvo has pre-defined Tire softwares for each car, for specific sizes. They would not have any wheel setting application possible for any combination that is not original to the car, or available as an official accessory. The way Volvo applies the tire settings is by what you can see in OrBit as Items 017 and 018, the tyre dimension, and tyre circumference. They apply only pre-configured adjustments for the exact tire/wheel combinations they offer from the factory and as accessories. You can make adjustments on your own to each config as you like with OrBit. I'll give you some guidance on them:

017 TYRE DIMENSION: This config setting adjusts the steering stops in the electric power steering system in the car, for example if you change the config for larger (wider) tire, steering end stop is adjusted to allow clearance for the wider tires by reducing the maximum steering angle. That makes your minimum turning circle larger, but your tires shouldn't rub the wheel well liner in that case. The tire size configs are pre-defined. You could choose a tire size that is not officially associated with your model. The car seems to take it in all cases, but you could find a combination that creates an invalid config.

018 TYRE CIRCUMFERENCE: This setting adjusts the input from the wheel speed sensors for the actual tire size (rolling circumference), to make distance and speed data and displays in the car accurate. More simply, this is the one you want to adjust to correct the speedometer/odometer for a "taller" or "shorter" wheel/tire combination.

What setting to use for Item 018 circumference? We can't really say. Tire circumference varies between tires, even the same size. A 235/45/19 in a different tire brand, or even different model tire of the same brand, will have different actual dimensions and different rolling circumference. Manufacturers don't normally publish the rolling circumference data for their tires. So you may need to use some trial to find the right setting if you feel the need to adjust it. You could compare GPS speed data to the speed display (speedometer) in the car. But the speed display in the car is usually intentionally inaccurate, to always display higher than the actual speed by a bit.

If you want to check and adjust the circumference setting, it may be best to check by measured distance (odometer) against GPS measurement, as that should be expected to be accurate in the car, and comparable as long as the distance travelled to compare is generally a straight line.

If you've changed wheel and tire size, you probably have not made a significant change of the circumference. As you fit a larger wheel for example, you must use a lower aspect ratio (shorter sidewall) tire that maintains similar circumference. If you did not do that, you would run into clearance issues for the tire, or the car may just look odd if you make too big of a change ;-) So you may not need to make any change to the tire circumference, but if you want to test and adjust, you can do it.

There is a difference between Creep On and Off so the modes are changing, but is there a config item that sets up Creep Off characteristics?

On these forums I've seen configuration item 214 recommended as the setting to change in order to make the orange care key behave like a normal key. When using my care key, all of the profile settings are greyed out so I was hoping to change setting 214 to allow the care key to function as a normal key, however I do not see setting 214 in orbit. My understanding is that not all cars can use the orange key as a fully functional normal key and that if setting 214 isn't available it means my care key cannot function normally. Is my understanding correct?

The car is a 2018 XC60 T6 Inscription.

Thanks!

After reading the most recent release notes, I discovered that if you go into the key pairing screen, there is a section for advanced options that will disable the care key functionality. This worked successfully for me and now my orange key appears to work as a normal key. I thought about deleting my post but I figured I'd leave it up as a monument to my lack of reading comprehension in case anyone else runs into the same confusion.

Hi all,
I'm considering converting a 2019 XC60 into a fully electric vehicle:
I have an XC60.
I also have a 2022 Polestar 2, all-wheel drive, with some body damage.
The conversion idea involves transferring the high-voltage battery, wiring, both electric motors, and as many electronic modules as possible from the Polestar to the Volvo XC60.
Of course, all engine and transmission components, as well as virtually all of the хс60’s electronics, will be removed.
The approximate physical layout of the high-voltage battery cells is clear. We have also considered mounting the electric motors and wheel drive on the XC60 body, as well as other mechanical issues.
There is a lot of uncertainty regarding the electronics.
It makes sense to keep some components (and their corresponding electronic modules) from the XC60. For example: the steering rack, front and rear headlights, seats, climate control system, panoramic sunroof, and likely the audio system. There are certainly others that are not yet clear.
In your opinion, will it be possible to properly interface the electronic modules of these HS60 systems with the Polestar 2 modules?
